QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that the Baloch nation should present its case with valid arguments and logic instead of charged emotions.

“There would be no compromise on Baloch resources, geography, national identity, coast and resources. We will struggle with the national democratic forces to attain the rights,” Dr Malik said while addressing the National Party (NP)’s fourth congress.

The convention of the party is being held at a hotel where leaders of the ruling parties Senator Hasil Khan, Tahir Bizenjo, Jan Mohammed Buledi addressed the party’s councillors who had come from different parts of the country. The council session had started on Saturday and continued until Sunday evening.

CM Baloch said he had presented that political and economic agenda of Balochistan before Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and he had taken it seriously. “There is a need of practical struggle for the rights instead of attractive slogans. The Baloch nation needs development, peace, employment, education, healthcare facilities and other needs of life to compete in the current world,” he said.

The federal government helped to lay down two transmission lines to end the electricity crisis and construct the highways, he reminded. “There is a significant improvement in law and order situation in Kech and Panjgur districts. We have increased the budget from 4% to 26% for education. We have broken down the chains of 70 gangs of kidnappers,” he said adding, “there is a considerable decline in the dumping of mutilated bodies while efforts are under way to end the issue of enforced disappearances.”

“I have accepted the position of chief minister because of the of party’s central committee decision. I will follow whatever party decides and will never defy party policy,” he said.

The veteran politician briefed the party cadres regarding the different phases of Baloch national movement and its history—rise and decline.
