ISLAMABAD:

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday said the nation must realise the value of truthfulness.

“Being Muslims we extol the virtue of truth, but bear on ourselves rulers that lie,” he said and reminded that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in August had made a statement regarding army offering a conciliatory role.

“Someone lied at the floor of parliament; it is a shame for us all that a leader has done it and is not ashamed of his act,” he added.

He quoted examples of Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton in the wake of false statements and said, “We would not allow the rulers to continue their style of governance based on lies.”

Imran condemned the killing of a Christian couple in Punjab in the name of Islam and said that the rulers had failed to establish rule of law in the country.

“I feel very sorry that a Christian couple was murdered in the name of Islam,” Imran said. Islam teaches justice and it was the conduct of the Muslims due to which Islam had spread in the world, he added.

Earlier, the PTI chairman started his speech with a felicitation message for the participants of sit-in, on 84th day, particularly people from Haripur who had come to join the sit-in at Constitution Avenue. “We will not give up and fight till the last ball,” he added.

He said that it was because of PTI’s sit-in that the government had reduced prices of petroleum products and once again renewed his demand of another cut of Rs8 per litre for petrol. While justifying his demand, he said that prices in international market had come down by 25% therefore, the government should adjust prices accordingly.

“The issue is to be taken up by the opposition in the assembly, but the real opposition is sitting here, therefore, we demand the government to reduce prices by November 30,” he added.

On November 30, the PTI has announced a mammoth rally in Islamabad and its chairman has claimed that it is going to be the largest ever political gathering in the capital.

While talking about rigging in 2013 general elections, Imran said that hearing into NA-122 (Lahore) would resume on November 7, and PTI was waiting for the opportunity anxiously.

He speaks about taking two wickets in one ball and now he will fight until last ball what type of sports man he is and he has been. He has been clean bowled by Javed Hashmi and like kids he wants to play foul in gentlemen's game. Please return to the pavilion and wait for the next game/elections to play your game again.
