FATA Secretariat initiates action against absenteeism

The FATA Secretariat has initiated action against hundreds of employees of the health and education departments under the Efficiency and Discipline (E&D) rules for being absent from their place of posting for a protracted period.


The FATA additional chief secretary had earlier ordered stern action against various line directorate and political administration officials who had been missing without informing the relevant authorities.

According to a press release issued on Thursday, the political authorities of Bajaur Agency initiated action against 156 employees of the education department and seven officials of the health department. Also, action was initiated against 12 officials of the education department in Khyber Agency.

Likewise, in Orakzai, proceedings began against 65 employees of the health department and 264 workers of the education department. Action was also taken against 25 and 171 employees of the education and health departments, respectively, in Kurram Agency.

Notices were published in sections of the press to 85 and 82 employees of the health and education departments, respectively, in Mohmand Agency. They were told to resume their duties at the earliest. At least 52 employees of the health department and 32 education department officials faced disciplinary action under the E&D rules in South Waziristan Agency.
