International affair: Conference on dental research commences today

Over 500 international academics, researchers and dentists participate

The first conference of the Pakistan Association for Dental Research (PADR) will begin today (Saturday) at the University of Health Sciences (UHS).


Three pre-conference workshops were held on Friday regarding this. Sobia Bilal, Amanullah Khan and Farhan Raza Khan conducted a workshop on advanced biostatistics, scientific writing and research methodology. Arshad Hassan of the Dow Dental College and Salman Ashraf of the University of Lahore facilitated a workshop on style-Italiano technique. Saad Arshad and Fariha Bukhari of the University of Lahore and Zubair of Nishtar Institute of Dentistry conducted a workshop on orthodontic treatment management.


The Oral Biology Department of the UHS has organised the two-day conference in collaboration with the Pakistan Association of Orthodontists, the Pakistan Dental Association and the COMSATS. The theme for the conference is Translating Research Evidence into Dental Practice. Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Mujahid Kamran will inaugurate the conference.


Over 500 academics, researchers and dentists from the United States, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan will participate in the conference.
