ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said on Thursday said that rich and poor would have the same rights in Naya Pakistan.

“We will end poverty from the country. It is not something impossible - the only thing needed is a change in policies. [Current] policies are designed for the welfare of the rich who have crushed the poor,” the PTI chairman said.

Addressing the sit-in, particularly the persons with disabilities, Imran said time would tell which province worked for the well-being of people with disabilities. “I am very happy to meet special people,” he added.

Imran Khan also tried to talk to the special children with sign language. He said that policymakers do not take into consideration the people with special needs while creating policies.

“We will lift the standard of life of the weak in Naya Pakistan,” he said, adding that Naya Pakistan is name of a new approach.

“I thank women of my party who have stood along with us throughout our protests,” he added. Talking about PTI’s upcoming rally in Gujrat, Imran  said that the message of change has reached every corner of the country and that the tsunami would enter Gujrat on Friday.

Earlier, PTI information secretary Dr Shireen Mazari condemned the blast in Quetta at the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) convention but at the same time said JUI-F chief was spreading hatred against the PTI.

“Maulana Fazlur Rehman is spreading hatred and encouraging violence using foul language against the PTI, especially its women. He should realise that women will not tolerate such abuse and he should be ashamed of the language he is using against those women of Pakistan who are part of the PTI. As a woman, I find his language unacceptable and reflective of a tainted mindset,” said a statement issued by the PTI.

Defending the use of music at the PTI sit-ins, Dr Mazari said that Sufi music and national taranas are part of our indigenous culture, adding that “Maulana is no one to cast aspersions.”

Mazari said that the JUI-F chief should instead do some soul searching over the corruption he has indulged in. “It is not surprising the Maulana sought to defend corruption of this government as well as the previous ones since he has been an integral part of all of them,” the statement added.

She said that the Maulana was saying such stuff due to his electoral defeat in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. He should try to understand why he suffered this defeat instead of inciting violence and hatred, the statement said.

PTI does not need rhetoric, they need to show how the things have actually changed in KP. Not too much difference looks though.
