ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has summoned a special cabinet meeting on October 28 to review the performance of all the ministries and their attached departments.

According to official sources, the premier has directed all ministries to brief the cabinet on their performance since June 2013.

The brief should include details regarding the extent to which the party manifesto has been implemented. Moreover, the briefing should involve information regarding the steps that have been taken so far for public welfare.

Nawaz has directed Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) chairperson Raja Zafarul Haq and Secretary General Zafar Jhagra to assist the cabinet in this regard.

It is pertinent to mention that the PM house is separately engaged to assess the performance of individual ministers and state ministers.

That report will be finalised next month.

An official said that following Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) sit-ins in the federal capital, the PML-N led government has decided to review progress of all ministries.

Question is, who is reviewing PM's performance?

At least they admit that PTI and PAT pressure is forcing them to do something!
