LONDON:

The Scotland Yard released Iftikhar Hussain on Tuesday, a relative of MQM chief Altaf Hussain, stating that they found no evidence of Iftikhar being involved in the murder case of Dr Imran Farooq.

A spokesperson for the Scotland Yard confirmed to The Express Tribune that the “52-year-old man had been released and no further action would be taken against him.”

Iftikhar was arrested last June from Heathrow airport after his arrival from Canada on suspicion of conspiracy to murder Farooq and was sent on bail.

Meanwhile, Scotland Yard is said to be working with Pakistanis to bring back two suspects, Mohsin Ali Syed and Mohammad Kashif Khan Kamran, who are currently reported to be in custody of intelligence agencies. The Scotland Yard had also arrested a member of MQM’s UK unit, who is currently on bail.
