Muharram arrangements: Junejo meets procession organisers

SSP asks to strictly observe routes and timings of the processions

ISLAMABAD:

SSP Operations Islamabad Police Asmatullah Junejo on Tuesday said the police will ensure tight security arrangements to maintain law and order during Muharram.

Junejo on Tuesday met organisers of different gatherings to be held in Islamabad during Muharram. He asked the organisers to strictly observe routes and timings of the processions.



The organisers also gave suggestions for better security measures.

The SSP said that a total of 177 processions and 909 gatherings would be held in Islamabad.

He said the police will keep an eye for suspects and will ensure checking of vehicles at several places.

The organisers briefed the SSP about their problems. Junejo directed respective SHOs to resolve the issues at the earliest.
