The sports week at University of Swat (UoS), Odigram campus ended with a prize distribution ceremony on Tuesday.
Awards were distributed among the top teams and players from competitions of badminton, tug of war, cricket, table tennis and athletics.
UoS Vice Chancellor Dr Jahanzeb Khan commended the organisers and the sports society for their efforts. “A healthy body is important for a healthy mind and healthy youth nurture a healthy society,” he said.
“Students participated with a lot of exuberance and the crowd cheered for their competing classmates,” said Niaz Ahmad Khan, a senior student at the university.
“The enthusiasm of fans holding placards and banners for their teams was remarkable,” said Shaista Hakeem, another student. However she suggested organisers give more opportunities to female students.
