Raising awareness: Seminar held on significance of ‘medico-legal’ report

CPLC Chinoy says medico-legal report holds vital importance in the cases of torture, harassment and other abuses

A seminar on the importance of the ‘medico-legal report’ was held by the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), Sindh Governor House.


CPLC chief Ahmed Chinoy chaired the seminar. Senior medico-legal officer Dr Shiraz and officials of the CPLC were also present at the programme. Speaking to the seminar, Chinoy said that the medico-legal report holds vital importance in the cases of torture, harassment and other abuses.


He added that all the zonal offices of the CPLC are fully authorised to redress the complaints and to issue a medico-legal examination letter. Speaking at the seminar, Shiraz highlighted the importance and technicalities of medico-legal reports.


According to him, a fair report does not only save the life of the complainant, but also saves several other lives associated with the affected party. Shiraz thanked and appreciated Chinoy for familiarising this facility at the CPLC platform and keeping the process transparent through his efforts.
