Higher education : Over 5,700 take UoP entrance tests

Around 200 invigilators were also assigned with the task of ensuring the tests were smoothly and fairly conducted

Over 5,700 students, including 1,905 women candidates, appeared for the University of Peshawar (UoP) entrance test for 2,500 seats in 42 departments in the MA and MSc programmes.


UoP held tests for students across the province, including 112 seats for students with disabilities. The tests were divided into four categories—Biological Sciences, Physical and Numerical Sciences, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences as well as Commerce and Inter-Science.

Around 200 invigilators were also assigned with the task of ensuring the tests were smoothly and fairly conducted. A statement said UoP Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan monitored the tests and was accompanied by Registrar Dr Syed Fazle Hadi and Director Admissions Prof Dr Hizbullah Khan as well as other UoP officials.

Talking to the media, Jan said since UoP is a parent organisation; it has the resources to conduct tests for other institutes throughout the province. He added the UoP entrance test facility would be extended to other varsities of the province if requested. Tests for English and Urdu master’s programmes were conducted and attempted by 1,500 candidates.
