Retaliation: Security forces kill three militants, says ISPR

According to Charbagh police, the search operation began on Saturday night and continued till Sunday morning

CHARBAGH:


Three militants were killed by security forces during a search operation in Mangwaltan area of Charbagh tehsil on Sunday.


Security forces started the search operation after unidentified persons shot a village defence committee member dead on Saturday night.

According to Charbagh police, the search operation began on Saturday night and continued till Sunday morning.

During the operation, militants opened fire at the security forces following which they retaliated and killed three alleged militants.

In a statement issued on Monday, ISPR confirmed the operation and subsequent deaths.

During the last one month, five village defence committee members have been killed by unidentified persons, causing fear and uncertainty among the people of Swat.
