In jail: Three men accused of killing policeman arrested

The police also claimed to have seized the dagger which was used in the crime and some weapons stolen from the police

Swat police arrested three people from Madyan on Saturday allegedly involved in the murder of police official Mehboobullah Jan.


According to DPO Sher Akbar Khan, special teams were formed to arrest the culprits responsible for killing Jan who was found beheaded in his home on Thursday.

The arrested men were identified as Izharuddin, resident of Bishigram and Bakhtawar Shah and Shahid, residents of Bar Durushkhela.

DPO Akbar Khan said the accused, after confessing their crime, said they had stolen a motorbike from the deceased policeman who traced them after some time. Jan had been demanding compensation for his stolen motorbike so they killed him, the DPO added.

The police also claimed to have seized the dagger which was used in the crime and some weapons which had been stolen from a police store.
