MUZAFFARABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said on Thursday that 70% work on Neelum Jhelum Hydroelectric Project (NJHEP) has been completed and the project would start generating electricity by 2016. Winding up his two-day visit of NJHEP the state minister said the government has released funds for the swift completion of this project of national priority. To a question Abid Sher Ali said that Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) will get the royalty of the project and the local communities will also enjoy share in the royalty and cheap electricity. “If we generate one unit of electricity in AJK at the cost of three rupees then we should not sell it to the people of the area for more than five rupees,” he added.
