KARACHI:
Pakistan's first prime minister and a prominent leader of Pakistan movement, Liaquat Ali Khan was given tribute at a seminar organised by the students of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology.
Khan truly inspired people with his strong character, firm conviction and unwavering determination, said the chancellor, Engineer Muhammad Adil Usman. He had the ability to solve people's problems and motivate them for national causes, he added, while addressing the students.
The chancellor quoted Khan's speech of November 17, 1947, in which Pakistan's first premier had said that he did not glorify premiership. If he could deliver better results as a peon, he won't refuse to do that job.
At the time of his death, his total assets were Rs1,250, although he had valuable property in India, for which he never submitted claim in Pakistan, the chancellor added.
