ISLAMABAD:

The government should focus on building small dams for cheap energy and sustainable industrial growth.

Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Muzzamil Sabri said this while taking charge of the organisation at a ceremony held here on Wednesday.

The ICCI president said that self-sufficiency in energy was indispensable for economic development and the government should give top priority to exploit hydro potential of Pakistan to build small dams at a number of sites including on the Swat, Punjkora and Chitral rivers.

He said that traders as well as the citizens were worried about inflated electricity bills and departments concerned should ensure to implement the prime minister’s directives to fix anomalies in the bills.
