ISLAMABAD:

Denmark’s Trade and Development Minister Mogens Jensen has said that potential exists for increased trade between Pakistan and Denmark.

“Pakistan demands knowledge, technology and innovative solutions in sectors such as energy, water, health, food products and agriculture,” said Jensen. “These are areas where Danish companies have particularly strong capabilities. Increased cooperation can lead to sustainable development in Pakistan as well as growth and jobs in Denmark”.

EMR Consult Director Farhat Ali said that Pakistani businessmen are now keen to pursue the possibilities of working together, offering competitive and technology driven solutions to customers with a blend of off-shore supplies and services with local-value addition.

Buksh Energy Pvt Ltd Director Fiza Farhan said that it could be a “revolutionary step for Pakistan to adopt the renewable energy solutions offered by Danish companies”.

She also encouraged other countries to get inspiration from the way Denmark had organised this trip with the aim to further bilateral trade relations.

The delegation visit was arranged by the Danish Embassy in Islamabad and sponsored through Danida Business Instruments, which is a new business facility available to Pakistan through the Government of Denmark.
