MULTAN:

The place to resolve all political issues is the parliament, MNA Sherry Rehman said on Saturday.

Talking to The Express Tribune, she said that the parliament alone represented the will of the Pakistani people. “Even the dictators could not bypass it,” she said.

Rehman said that the PPP supported democracy and national institutions. “The conflict in Islamabad is a fight over who will rule Lahore,” she said.

“It is a fact that rigging was conducted on scientific basis in the 2013 elections. However, now is not a time to highlight the issue. Now Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has won the people’s mandate as a democratic party. We have supported them for the sake of democracy.

“The PPP will continue to strengthen the foundations of the country by promoting a culture of reconciliation and federalism,” she said.
