MULTAN: As many as 400 special children joined hands with Pakistan Army in Multan for relief activities. A delegation of disabled children met at Noor Public School, where relief camps have been set up for flood victims. They packed nearly 5,000 food bags for flood-affected families. Corps Commander Lieutenant General Abid Pervez said 127 tonnes of food had been distributed in flood hit areas. He appreciated the efforts of the special children in times of disaster. “All segments of the society must join hands to help those in need,” he said. He said Pakistan Army had deployed more lady doctors to check women and child at medical relief camps. He said priority was being given to health of mothers and infants. He said eight helicopters had been deployed to evacuate people and transport food and medicines. He said nearly 13,000 people had been shifted to safer places this week.
