Gunned down: Student dies after FC man opens fire

The man had passports for the UK and other European countries in his possession.

PESHAWAR: A Frontier Constabulary (FC) constable opened fire at a car, killing a man in Hayatabad, Phase 7 on Thursday. According to the police, an FC man—identified as Shahzad—was manning a check post. When a car he flagged down did not come to a halt at the checkpoint, he opened fire. “The deceased has been identified as Sajid. He was a resident of Hayatabad, Phase 4,” added a police official. “He was shot in the head and died on the spot.” Sajid was a student of BSc at Bannu University. The family of the deceased later protested outside Tatara police station. “The accused has been arrested and an FIR registered against him,” he added. In a separate incident, the FIA arrested a man identified as Mahmood Zada from Bacha Khan International Airport for possessing fake passports. The man had passports for the UK and other European countries in his possession.
