LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday dismissed bail application of a factory owner, accused of stealing electricity worth Rs30 million.

Mian Ijaz, the owner of a factory making home appliances in Thokar Niaz Baig, filed the bail application, stating that the Federal Investigation Agency registered a fake case against him to harass him. He said that the agency had failed to find any incriminating evidence against him.

Omar Sharif, the representative of Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco), told the court that the Supreme Court had earlier dismissed Ijaz’s bail application. He said that an FIA inquiry had found him guilty.

Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi then dismissed the petition.
