MNA Jamshed Dasti was beaten by those affected by the floods in the rural areas of Muzaffargarh district on Monday. The mob blamed Dasti for reportedly saving the urban area of Muzaffargarh by breaching the Doaba dyke, while the rural areas were inundated. The crowd also attacked the officials of the district administration and district police officer. DPO Muzaffargarh Rai Zameer ul Haq received minor injuries as the officials were attacked.
A crowd of more than 800 protesters gathered on Monday evening after water entered the rural areas of Muzaffargarh. They carried sticks with them as they positioned themselves near the breach at Doaba dyke. Floodwater entered Muzaffargarh city after it reached Taliri Canal and spread to the surrounding areas of Muradabad and Thatha Sialan. In order to ease pressure at the canal, the district administration breached Doaba dyke in two places on Sunday. Dasti was attacked when he was unable to justify the breach in the dyke. He escaped on a motorcycle and received minor injuries.
The protesters demanded that Muzaffargarh city be inundated and their agricultural lands saved.

There is no doubt to the fact that due to all this dharna issue, masses r taking an aggressive stance towards injustice.... in a way public is getting bolder n bolder day by day which is supposidly a good sign but not for people of country like Pakistan where huge majority is illetrate. The culture of bashing n insult will get IK no where though his demands r all justified. I wish politicians do some thing positive to discourage this trend coz they will be the biggest loser among many.NS sb 90's is long gone wake up to 2014.
@Mirza: Ever read French or US history my friend. Nothing new is happening. With all this chaos we will emerge much much stronger. Just wait and see. Important thing for any nation has always been the ability to question good and bad, freedom and restrictions. Believe me, we are far better than gulf monarchy states with mum overfed arrogant public!
@@Mirza: If I have understood your comment correctly, you have complaints about the way PMLN is ruling Pakistan. However, you ended the comment by writing 'Go Nawaz Go' which basically means you are supporting Mr.Nawaz. I am a bit confused, not that it matters :-)
@@Mirza:
People like you are a shame to any country.. Talkin' blues without looking at the reality of the situation.
Like the brothers said.. GO TO SLEEP while we chant GO NAWAZ GO ..
@Mirza: There are always people who lag way behind what is happening. People have woken up and the change has come. Wake up and smell the roses. Yes, there could be seemingly chaotic situations sometimes, but from the rubble will rise a new Pakistan, run by its' people.
Yes true, Sadly now you cant make people wait for hours and hours for a VIP in a plane, now you can kill people freely in broad day light and walk free, sadly you cant ask Gullo Butt to destroy people life saving and vehicles. SSP City cannot tap on the back of Gullo butt while people are been murdered.
Sadly we are waking up, thanks to PMLN inability to resolve the Dharna demand.
People accross Pakistan are finding their lost voices of sanity and are raising questions.
Nawaz, while addressing in sailkot flood area had to leave immediately when people found rhythm to a freedom slogan of
Go Nawaz GoLooks speaches of IK are awakening the society for its rights. A horrible scenario awaits in peipe line. Rehman Malik off loaded, Minsiter and MNA forced to leave flight and now another MNA injurred, one can visualise propping up scenes.
@Mirza....The only way to stop mob rule is to hold free and fair elections in the country........That is the only way to establish moral authority of the government and of the institutions......
the new trend of beating or confronting politicians has been started... Dr. Ramesh, Rehman Malik and Jamshed Dasti..... keep it up guys.
I wished they farmers have caught dasti and have beaten him big time. Why is it always they poor who get all the water.
Dasti and PTI some day would taste their own medicine. Pakistan is becoming free for all. Mob rule is going to be the norm of the day. With no respect for Senators and MNA mobs would rule the silent majority in the country. No wonder several parties have already armed groups among them.
i won't spare them who attacked him!!!
City of MuzaffarGarh district has many important sites so the decision to save the urban areas is a good decision as we have THERMAL POWER HOUSE, Many Textile Factories and other important sites that should be saved. Within the city there are VARIOUS SHELTER CAMPS to protect thousands of flood effected people from rural areas, these camps are situated within the city so it is crucial to block the entry of water in the city. We appreciate Mr.JAMSHED DASTI for this WISE DECISION. thank you all Please remember one thing It is more important to SAVE LIVES than to save agricultural lands. thank you again from Cuba DR.
