LAHORE: The Lahore police on Wednesday activated its official Facebook and Twitter accounts. Operations DIG Dr Haider Ashraf said that the accounts were made to facilitate complainants, improve police’s performance and for senior police officials to remain in direct contact with the people. “By following the accounts, the citizens and the media will be able to know about our policy statements on different issues and important events. The accounts have been titled Lahorepoliceofficial,” he said. He said that the department would soon start an SMS service. “People will be able to directly send their complaints to SHOs, DSPs and the SPs. An acknowledgement message will be sent back to the complainant,” he said.
