Flood alert: Zardari seeks reports from PPP MPs, ministers

All of party’s lawmakers in Sindh have been directed to submit reports on their areas today

Former president and co-chairperson of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari has directed the party’s provincial lawmakers and ministers to submit detailed reports on their respective areas about possible floods in Sindh.


The lawmakers have been strictly directed to submit the report by today (Monday) evening. During the meeting at Bilawal House on Sunday, Zardari asked provincial authorities to utilise all possible resources to avoid any damage.

All relevant departments, including the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, have been directed to remain vigilant over the situation. All district departments have been told to remain alert. All officials who were on leave have been asked to resume their duties immediately.

Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani and Nisar Ahmed Khuhro will submit reports about Kashmore and Larkana, respectively. Syed Murad Ali Shah, Makhdoom Jamiluz Zaman, Jam Khan Shoro, Nasir Ali Shah, Muhammad Ali Malkani, Dr Sikandar Ali Mandhro, Mir Munawar Ali Talpur, Dost Muhammad Rahimoon, Jam Mehtab Khan Dahar, Ali Nawaz Mahar, Giyanchand Esrani, Malik Asad Sikandar, Manzoor Hussain Wassan and others have also been directed to visit their areas today and submit the report.

Zardari has also directed Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to use all available resources and monitor the situation through video link. Zardari said that he will monitor the whole situation through the monitor cell at Bilawal House.
