PFUJ rebuts claims, vows to stand for democracy

PFUJ is not working under a certain agenda, say its president Rana Azeem and secretary general Amin Yousaf

Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) is not working under a certain agenda, its president Rana Azeem and secretary general Amin Yousaf said on Thursday, refuting claims published by Jang newspaper.


In a joint statement on Thursday, both PFUJ officials outrightly rejected a news item published in Jang newspaper. According to them, PFUJ has not contacted any organisation and in not working under any kind of influence.

They also stated that an effort has been made to malign the standing of PFUJ through the above mentioned news item, which is against the ethics of journalism.

They vowed that PFUJ will work for the betterment of journalists and for upholding journalistic norms in the country.

In the statement, PFUJ said it has a history of supporting democracy and is still working protect democracy and freedom of speech.
