ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, while addressing the parliamentarians on Tuesday, questioned the logic behind an idea floated by PTI for the 30-day resignation of the prime minister.

“How can you resign for 30 days? What difference will that make to the situation,” he inquired.

“Our Parliament got attacked and we just sat there and watched,” Rehman said.

Speaking about the current political crisis, the JUI-F leader asked the government to resolve the issue without the use of force.

Commenting on the road blockage situation, Rehman stressed that no bureaucrat can go to his/her office and an alternative way of reaching Parliament House should be found.

“Despite being in power, the government has not been able to control four to five thousand people,” Rehman lamented.

Speaking about the attack on PTV headquarters, he said: “PTV's transmissions ceased; the whole world saw this," he added.

“When police get involved, they are beaten up. The SP was beaten. This is how we behave with our police. What message is this giving the rest of the world? If a member of the army goes to resolve the situation, they listen,” the JUI-F leader said.

Rehman also spoke about how it has become difficult for China to invest in the country. Further, the JUI-F leader also put emphasis on how the country is ignoring the internally displaced persons of North Waziristan due to the ongoing political crisis.
