On the highway: Bodies of three missing Baloch men found

The bullet-riddled bodies of three Baloch men were found on the National Highway near Sakrand, Nawabshah district on Thursday.


The deceased were identified as Sabzal Bugti, 26, Joro Khan Bugti, 22, and Sahib Marri, 45. According to the Sakran police station SHO Ameen Khoso, a Mazda truck threw the bodies on the road near the Magsi stop. He said that the suspects who killed and dumped the bodies could not be identified.

Hundreds of people from the Bugti and Marri tribes of Balochistan reached the Sakrand taluka hospital after the news about the deceased spread. While talking to the media at the hospital, Joro’s mother, Haleema Bugti, said that son had been missing for two months. She denied that her deceased son had links with outlawed Baloch nationalist outfits. Sabzal’s brother Saleem Marri said that his brother went missing a week ago.

The Bugti tribe is from Balochistan’s Dera Bugti district while the Marri are from Kohlu. The families of deceased settled in Matiari and Hala tehsils of Matiari district a few years ago. According Dr Naseer Ahmed Memon, all of the victims were shot in head and chest. No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.
