MINGORA:

The Swat Sports Festival ended on Wednesday after nine days of sporting activities followed by a prize and trophy distribution ceremony.

K-P Minister for Irrigation Mahmood Khan was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony while MPAs and district officials were also in attendance. School children performed skits and sang songs on the occasion. At the end, the provincial minister distributed trophies and prizes among the best players and successful teams.

Organised under the slogan of ‘Play, Unite, Rebuild’, the festival was aimed to promote healthy activities in the militancy-affected area by providing a platform for the youth to indulge in sports.

The event was jointly organised by the Provincial Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Settlement Authority (PaRRSA) and USAID, in collaboration with the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government.
