FAISALABAD: A 55-year-old woman and her 25-year-old daughter were found dead in their house in Waryam Wala, police said. They said they had received a call that stench was emitting from the house of the late Lal Din in Chak 491. The house was locked. A police team broke into the house and found Sallan Bibi and her daughter Musarrat Lal lying dead. The Waryam Wala station house officer (SHO) told the media it appeared that the women had been strangled. He said the bodies had been sent for autopsy and that police were waiting for the medical report. Abdul Kareem, a neighbour, said Sallan and Musarrat had been living by themselves. “The house had been locked for two days. Initially, we thought they had gone visiting their relatives but we became concerned when we smelled the stench,” Kareem said. “We informed police who broke into the house and found the women lying dead.” Regional Police Officer Muhammad Ehsan Taufail has ordered an inquiry.
