Development: Water supply scheme inaugurated

The scheme in Kalokhel is part of the UAE Pakistan Assistance Program.

Corps Commander Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani inaugurated a solar-based water supply scheme in Mohmand Agency early Wednesday morning. The scheme in Kalokhel is part of the UAE Pakistan Assistance Program, under which a total of 10 solar-based water supply schemes worth Rs87 million have been constructed by army engineers at Kalokhel, Darwazghai, Sultan Khel, Badazai, Surdaq, Ato Khel Navvi Kalay, Saido Khor, Lakaro and Shakoor Khor in Mohmand Agency. The purpose is to provide clean drinking water for 90,000 people in 8,400 houses. The corps commander, while addressing local elders, appreciated the cooperation and assistance extended by the people of Mohmand Agency for the completion of these development projects. He also praised army engineers for taking on such people-centric projects in Fata. He said such projects would transform the less developed tribal areas.
