Taking up the mantle: Results of final MBBS exams announced

KMC student Mamnoonur Rashid clinches first position with 1,649 marks.

Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar announced the results of its MBBS Final Professional Annual Examinations 2013 session on Saturday.


Out of the 1,157 students, a total of 868 students passed the exam, with the success rate at 75%.

According to a notification issued by the examination department of KMU, Mamnoonur Rashid of Khyber Medical College, Peshawar clinched first position by obtaining 1,649 marks while Ayesha Aziz of KMC and Nargis Jabeen of KMU Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Kohat secured second and third positions by obtaining 1,634 and 1,623 marks, respectively.



The passing ratio of KMC in the exams was 87% while the success rate of Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad was 83%, Gomal Medical College, DI Khan 69%, Khyber Girls Medical College, Peshawar 81%, Saidu Medical College, Swat 85%, KMU Institute of Medical Sciences, Kohat 84%, Bannu Medical College 78%, Women’s Medical College, Abbottabad 67%, Jinnah Medical College, Peshawar 32%, and Abbottabad International Medical College 14%.

On the occasion, KMU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Hafizullah congratulated the successful students and their parents, especially the position holders.

“The young graduates of medicine and surgery are our pride and we hope that they will keep a few candles burning and continue to improve their professional as well as communication skills through hard work in coming days.”
