RAWALPINDI:

A 43-year-old man was killed over a family feud in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, said a media report on Monday.

Ilyas Khan, a native of Mardan, was at Quaid-e-Azam Chowk in Sector-II when he was intercepted by rivals who shot and killed him on the spot.

Khan was a seminary teacher in Mardan but had come to Rawalpindi to hide from his rivals.

Khan’s family had an old enmity in Mardan and he is allegedly the 15th person killed as a result of the feud.

Meanwhile, the same police on Monday arrested two persons for possession of hashish and an illegal weapon.

During a patrol, a police party seized 540 grams of hashish from Najumul Hassan and an unlicensed 30-bore pistol with three bullets from Munir Khan.

Separate cases have been registered under the relevant laws and investigations are under way, said an official.
