Raids: Police arrest 21 for carrying drugs, weapons

Police seized 1,410 grams of hashish, three 30-bore pistols, 71 bottles of liquor and 250 litres of wine.

Rawalpindi Police on Thursday arrested 21 people in possession of illicit drugs and illegal weapons in various localities.


The police seized 1,410 grams of hashish, three 30-bore pistols, 71 bottles of liquor and 250 litres of wine from the suspects. Banni, Sadiqabad and Morgah police apprehended Ayaz, Nauman Shah and Gul Zubair for carrying hashish, respectively.


Meanwhile the Civil Lines, Ganjmandi, Kahuta and RA Bazaar police nabbed Raja Ahsan, Shakeel, Ejaz and Junaid with liquor, while two drunkards Khalid and Afraiz were held in Kahuta.


Seven other suspects were arrested from different localities of Sadiqabad, RA Bazaar, Banni, Airport, Jatli and Wah Cantt for carrying illegal arms and ammunition.


Similarly, the Rawat police detained Khalid Mehmood for his alleged involvement in the illegal sale of diesel, while Cantt and Airport police held Khurram Ejaz and Osama Tanveer and Mahaz Ali and Raja Asad over reckless driving and wheeling, respectively. Police have registered cases against all the arrested.
