KARACHI: The first phase of the Youth Olympics camp came to an end on Saturday with players given a self-training programme for their Eid break, after which they will report back for training on August 2.

“We have provided the players with a training and diet plan so they can stay in practice,” head coach Tahir Zaman told The Express Tribune.

The Olympian said that upon their return, the probables would have to go through a physical test and compete in several matches before the final squad is selected for the event in China (August 16-28).

“They will compete against a mixed squad of our best seniors and juniors available in Lahore. The matches will be observed by officials from the Pakistan Hockey Federation, who will be responsible for selecting the final squad,” he added.
