LAHORE: Security agencies on Saturday arrested four people suspected of having been in contact with a terrorist killed in the Raiwind operation.

The arrests were made after a house was raided in Haveli Lakha early on Saturday morning. Suicide jackets, extremist literature, explosives and Indian currency were seized during the raid.

Three of the suspects were identified as Mehboob, Usman and Ali.

The suspects have been taken to an undisclosed location.

Requesting anonymity, a security official said the arrested men belonged to the University of Engineering and Technology and were affiliated with a banned militant outfit.

“The suspects were planning to target political leaders in the province,” the official said.
