Redressing complaints: Garbage around mosque irks residents

Filthy sewage has accumulated around the mosque which plagues the nearest ground where Eid prayer take place.

KARACHI: Sindh chief secretary Sajjad Saleem Hotiana has taken notice of the lack of sanitation around the Jamia Masjid, Samanabad Trust, Block-18, Federal B Area. Filthy sewage has accumulated around the mosque which not only deteriorates the roads and walls of mosque, but also plagues the nearest ground where the congregation of Eid prayer takes place. Redressing a complaint from the mosque committee and residents of the area, Hotiana has directed prompt action for cleanliness of the mosque area. He has also sought a report from the commissioner of Karachi, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation administrator and Karachi Water and Sewerage Board managing director within three days. Moreover, he has directed local government secretary and all the commissioners and administrators of Sindh to ensure proper sanitation within seven days before Jumatul Wida.
