PESHAWAR:

Senior leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) MNA Ghulam Ahmad Bilour on Tuesday condemned the Israeli incursion into Gaza and the killing of Palestinians.

“They are being slaughtered by Israeli forces the same way Pukhtuns are being killed by militants in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and there is no one to stop them,” Bilour said while addressing journalists at Peshawar Press Club.

He added it was heartening to see that the people of Pakistan had shown solidarity with Palestine.

Turning his attention to the home front, the MNA alleged political parties chose to remain silent over the killing of Pukhtuns because they are afraid of militants.

He alleged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan and his “cronies” were derailing democracy in the country.

Accompanied by several other party members, Bilour strongly criticised Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri and Imran Khan for their continued protests.

“Their aim is to derail the democratic set-up which is not in the interest of the country,” the former minister said. He stressed that his party would never support any protest that could destabilise the country.

Speaking about PTI’s electoral victory in K-P, he said, “We are a very naïve people who can be deceived quite easily. Imran can never represent this province because he is more interested in becoming prime minister. He can never raise his voice for the rights of Pukhtuns.”

He also criticised the K-P government for failing to improve the security situation in the province.

Not just Pakhtuns Sir, but many small nations of Pakistan claim that status. I have heard whole provinces of Pakistan calling themselves "Palestine". In that case, solving "our own issues" is the key to solving Palastenian issue.
