LAHORE: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan met with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at Raiwind to discuss Nisar's grievances with the party and other issues on Saturday, Express News reported.
In the meeting which has been ongoing for four hours, Nawaz has assured Nisar that all grievances and issues will be resolved.
The interior minister told Nawaz that he has no personal grievances with him and that under all circumstances they should work for the government and party interest.
“Party matters should be resolved within the party,” the premier said.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was also present during the meeting. He has been tasked by Nawaz to meet with all ministers who have any grievances to resolve them.
The next meeting for this will take place at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad.
Earlier today, Nisar and Shahbaz reached Raiwind via helicopter to meet the premier.
Shahbaz had brought Nisar to Lahore on July 4. The move had come after a meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders over Nisar's growing sense of estrangement.
The PML-N leaders had met under the chairmanship of Nawaz in Islamabad yesterday and were briefed by Shahbaz about the interior minister’s grievances with the party and other issues, particularly the case of former president Pervez Musharraf.
Agenda of today’s meeting
Party sources had earlier said that Nisar will ask the prime minister for a solution to tackle the August 14 long march announced by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Dr Tahirul Qadri’s planned ‘revolution’.
Sources had said the interior minister will also advise Nawaz to review the party’s policy on Musharraf during today’s meeting.
Power houses within PML-N
According to sources, Nisar is annoyed with certain cliques within the party and the premier’s decision to give Defence and Energy Minister Khawaja Asif’s opinion on the Musharraf issue precedence over his suggestion.
According to reports, three informal powerhouses have emerged within the PML-N and the stalwarts leading these groups have started lobbying within the party to remove each other from important portfolios or deflate their influence.
The three groups are led by Nisar, Asif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
Party officials have revealed that Nisar is the most influential of the three group leaders or has the ‘strongest’ group as he is the closest to Shahbaz Sharif.
On the other hand, Asif’s group, which includes Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, is known to be under Nawaz’s wing.
Dar’s group, meanwhile, enjoys the favour of both the Sharif brothers and includes State Minister for Telecommunication Anusha Rehman and Nawaz’s daughter Maryam Nawaz.
Although both Nisar and Asif have strongly opposed each other’s proposals whenever they were presented before the party leadership, they are both united in their opposition towards Dar, who they think uses – rather, abuses – the extra powers he has been given by the prime minister.

Did Nawaz apologies from Nasar for mistakes?
Is it Pakistan Muslim League or Punjabi Muslim League?
@Chachoo @Frank:
it is true people are always changing their votes except for the die-hearts, last time it was PP in federal govt this time its N league, next who knows it could be PP or PTI,
its a game which has been made complex by the inclusion of PTI in Pakistan's Political Professional league, now political pundits will have to work really good to predict the next winner.
Frank we really have to study the past/history it has only been N league and PP they both kept taking their turns and they were happy with it but this time its different now we have some new entrants in the game which are challenging the former champions/status-quo and for this reason former & current champions are retaliating these new entrants with such brute force, and every one knows what they are up against, they are just wasting your and my time in their tantrums nonsense.
@Frank: This does not mean that If the people in Punjab are disillusioned with PMLN then they are looking for PTI. Infact they are fed up from both Parties. PTI is purely Urban and PMLN vote base is shrinking rapidly. Semi Urban population is totally left behind. The Mughal story is repeating where Leaders from other regions feast on Punjab.
The word in the streets of Punjab is different this time. They want a Local leadership with local roots only. For the past 1000 years Opportunists have used Punjabis and then blamed them at the same time. Punjabis are fed up of this blame game. I am telling you that in the future you will see a New party in Punjab arising from Non Urban Punjab and comprising of the young leaders belonging from Villages. People are looking for new leaders and in the next ten years local parties will challenge the big parties.
@hassan:
You make some good points, but you're living in the past. Things have changed now. The last PPP government was a complete disaster and the PPP has been wiped out in Punjab as a consequence. The word on the Punjabi street now is that, incredibly, this PML-N is even worse than the PPP one. Punjabis will not continue to vote for the Sharifs unconditionally. They are in trouble in Punjab, their vote bank, and they know it and hence their panicked reaction to TUQ.
Even the biggest PML-N supporter can't deny that if tax money was spent on that helicopter Shahbaz and Nisar should be sacked what is this? Our tax monies isn't their personal bank account.
@Frank: they surely will be out if they do not deliver only if this was some other country.
Frank do you really think political parties come back in power(wins election) because they have delivered before?
we all know a universal fact about Pakistani Politics that in Pakistan elections are run on the basis of Electables not on the basis of eligibility or righteousness.
If you think Imran Khan can or will banish all the Gullu butts of Pakistan then your wrong, Gullu Butt is not a personality its a phenomenon, Political party needs to have at-least one or two Gullu Butts in their ranks to suppress the opposition of any sort.
N league's gullu butt came out to suppress the opposition which was in form PAT.
Nisar is the most capable of all ministers in the Nawaz Cabinet, with the exception of Sartaj Aziz, who due to his old age cannot be as effective as he was, for example in 1992 when he was Minister of Finance and taking the country towards financial sufficiency by de-emphasizing aid and substituting it with trade. Asif has more guts than sophistication. Dar is more influential than competent. Aziz must be brought back to advise on Finance and Dar work under his guidance and advice. That leaves the spot of a foreign minister vacant but PML-N does not seem to have anyone competent for that post. (So get some technocrat elected on a Senate seat or make a technocrat, like Shamshad Ahmed, advisor on foreign affairs but he would have to listen to the civilian government more than the Army.)
@Jibran: I did not voted for N league. so I cannot comment on their performance.
I voted for Imran Khan and for this reason I can certainly comment on his performance, I am saying instead of protesting against the federal govt. Imran Khan should deliver himself where he has the mandate, instead of delivering where it matters he is planning for a march that will cost PTI a lot of money,
balochistan has conducted local body elections then why not we can have local body election in KPK and it not my demand this was included in PTI's Manifesto delegating power on the grass root level, so what happened to all the delegation?
Imran Khan is turning out to be like a normal politician, who do not keep their promises,
Ch. Nisar must have been fired long ago from the Interior Ministry. He has established himself as the most incompetent interior minister of all times. But, given Sharif Family's track record of installing incompetent cronies on all key portfolios, the two brothers will beg the Chaudhry to continue with his poor performance.
".....The interior minister told Nawaz that he has no personal grievances with him and that under all circumstances they should work for the government and party interest...."
Typical subcontinental politician's trait....Nisar doesn't have any grievances and still throwing tantrums for weeks.
@hassan: And what has the Sharif Family delivered? Rampant corruption, Unprecedented inflation, staggering national debt, 15 murders, Gestapo style tactics, Election fraud, Loot sale of national assets, conflict with the state institutions, and gimmicks of jangla buses.
While Rome was burning.......
PML should forget their differences and get united to save the nation and country from this economic and military crisis going on in our homeland.be mature and wise we need to learn the art of unity and sacrifice for achieving greater cause that is the betterment of Pakistan.
@Faraz:
You're kidding yourself. I'm from a town in Punjab that is considered a Sharif stronghold. Because of massive inflation, continued loadshedding, increasing lawlessnes, the Gullu Butt farce etc his support here is rapidly eroding here and the rest of Punjab.
The Punjabi establishment does nothing for the common Punjabi and Punjabis haven't written the Sharifs a blank cheque. Either they start performing or they're out.
@Qandi gul: I voted for Imran Khan in the last election but sorry to say he has not deliver yet anything substantial, Imran has his government in KPK and what has he delivered there? have they conducted local body elections ? and they still were not voting for the operation they only voted for the operation because federal government started the operation even without their consent they voted just to cover up their track.
when you say he will get rid of punjabi establishment and then by what is he going to replace it with ? I guess a establishment comprising men from all the provinces and will that be any good for Pakistan?
So one group is close to one brother, another group is close to another brother, and third group which is led by a 'samdi' is close to the daughter. And we still call it democracy? If this is democracy then Gen. Zia ul Haq and Gen. Musharaf's tenures were also democratic.
@Qandi gul: My dear IK is nothing in Punjab despite campaigning day and night against Pmln for last 4 years. The mantra of rigging is almost nothing. Pmln is very very strong in Punjab.
Was this helicopter trip self paid or we tax payers paid for this luxury?
Imran Khan's revolution will hopefully get rid of the punjabi establishment.
Does it need to be reported in this detail with live coverage.. The only bit of news it the abuse of state machinery and resources - they decide to fly from lahore to raiwind on a helicopter... And yet they preach others to save money when spending out of their pockets on electricity/gas/weddings.
Had it been PTI, PMLN trolls would have been jumping up and down in ET with their nonsense.
Let the power house decide on BFF. They can have a reality show for it as all that nations need is some entertainment. The friend is angry and not talking and then flown to Islamabad from Karachi. I am glad the premiere is stepping up to provide relief to people in form of some entertainment. The nation is faced with war , terrorism , IDPs , model town issue etc etc and greatly needs some entertainment to boost the morale.
Oh my, our tax dollars are being used to transport these love birds to sort out their personal affairs.
