KARACHI:

The chief minister (CM) of Sindh, Qaim Ali Shah, went to meet former home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza at his residence in Karachi on Thursday and assured him that all his grievances would be resolved.

According to the chief minister’s spokesperson, Shah had gone to inquire about Mirza’s health as he has been ill for more than a year. However, sources privy to the meeting told The Express Tribune that the CM met Mirza to discuss the latter’s reservation over the Sindh government’s decision about the Thatta division with Bhambore as its headquarters.

A senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader claimed that the Mirza family insisted on making Badin the headquarters. He added that Mirza and his wife, the former speaker of the National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza, had earlier expressed their concern over not inducting their son, Hasnain Mirza, in the Sindh Cabinet. The CM has assured the family that the cabinet will be reshuffled soon and their son will be accommodated in the new set up.
