Monsoon precautions: CDA prepared to cope with emergencies

The CDA chairman ordered officials to ensure timely removal of stagnant water.

With a strong expectation of monsoon this season, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) was fully prepared to meet any potential emergencies in Islamabad.


The civic agency said that even though the National Disaster Management Cell (NDMC) has not forecast any flood risk, it will remain committed to cope with potential emergencies by establishing a flood relief cell.

The CDA chairman ordered officials to ensure timely removal of stagnant water besides issuing warnings to people living in low-laying areas.

The CDA said that slum resident in sectors F-6, F-7/4, G-8/1, G-7/3, G-7/2, G-7/1 would be warned separately through notices and public announcement to removal illegal structures along drains.
