Short circuit: Fire breaks out at a garment factory in Karachi

Fire broke out as a result of short-circuit.

KARACHI: Fire broke out in a garment factory on Sunday evening located near Port Qasim Bridge in the limits of Bin Qasim Police station.

According to initial details fire broke out as a result of short-circuit. Police and fire brigade have reached the spot.

Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Bin Qasim Abdul Fateh Sangri told that the factory was closed as it was a Sunday and only the watchman was on duty.

“We removed fire catching materials and other goods from the factory and the fire brigade tenders also reached the factory but the fire managed to spread” Sangri said.

According Fire Brigade officials, it was a third degree fire which broke out at around 8 pm and 28 fire tenders were busy in the fire fighting operation.

No causalities have been reported as yet.
