Disciplinary action: AIGP Thebo suspends three police officials

Thebo suspended the incharge for not doing anything substantial to fix the issues at the unit.

KARACHI:

The newly appointed Karachi Additional IG, Ghulam Qadir Thebo, suspended three police officials during surprise visits to different Police Helpline 15 Madadgar units on Saturday.

Thebo paid a surprise visit to the Ferozabad Madadgar Unit under the Sharae Quaideen Bridge. Inspector Humayun Khan, the incharge of the unit, was absent and the other staff could not explain the way they are operating, said the unit's spokesperson.

Thebo was unhappy to learn that the unit did not have a landline phone, a comprehensive communication system or a functioning very high frequency (VHF) radio. He suspended the incharge for not doing anything substantial to fix the issues at the unit. Separately, he ordered the demotion and suspension of Federal B Industrial Area SHO Khalid Mughal. He also suspended FB Area ASI Jaffery and ordered his transfer out of the city.

Thebo had first visited the Korangi Industrial Area 15 unit, whose incharge was not present. The staff of the unit explained their work and the problems they face, said inspector Atiq Shaikh, adding that Thebo advised them to record every incident and call for help.
