Oath-taking ceremony: Mansehra Bar Association elects office-bearers

PHC judge urges lawyers secure prompt and inexpensive justice for marginalised communities.

The dispensation of speedy justice can ensure eradication of social evils and lawyers are professionally bound to help the judiciary get rid of injustices and corruption, said Peshawar High Court (PHC) judge Justice Abdul Latif Khan.


The high court judge was addressing lawyers and members of Mansehra judiciary at the oath-taking ceremony of the Mansehra Bar Association on Saturday.

Lauding the efforts of lawyers in promoting democracy and securing justice for people, Justice Khan urged the judicial officers present to become a ray of hope for marginalised communities by securing prompt and inexpensive justice.

The PHC judge also urged senior lawyers to share their expertise with their juniors to help them become more professional.

Newly-elected president of the district bar association, Advocate Munir Lughmani brought the PHC judge’s attention to the various issued faced by the district judiciary, to which Justice Khan promised to take up the issue with the chief justice. He also announced a donation of Rs100,000 for the bar from his own pocket.

Earlier, Justice Khan administered the oath to newly-elected office-bearers of Mansehra District Bar Association.
