A job well done: IGP awards police officials

Police chief commended the gallantry of police officials.

IGP Nasir Khan Durrani awarded police officers of Kohat and Abbottabad for exemplary performance during a ceremony held at the Central Police Office on Tuesday.


Recently, the Kohat police gunned down a convicted terrorist, Rizwanullah, during an encounter in Shakardara, Kohat. The accused had been convicted and sentenced to 25 years in prison by an anti-terrorism court and had fled from DI Khan prison during the jailbreak in July 2013. SHO Shakardara police and his driver had been injured during the encounter. Meanwhile, earlier this month, the Abbottabad police recovered a newborn baby and arrested two accused within 48 hours of the child’s abduction.

Addressing the ceremony, the police chief commended the gallantry of police officials of both cities and said protecting the lives of the general public should be the hallmark of police officials.

The IGP awarded Shakardara SHO Inspector Muhammad Afzal and his driver, constable Kamal Din, and Abbottabad police inspector Shahmraiz, inspector investigation Fazalur Rahman and ASI Nauroz with commendation certificates and cash prizes.
