Eight suspected terrorists arrested in Lahore

The arrests came after a traffic warden alerted the police about the suspicious individuals.

LAHORE: Eight suspected terrorists affiliated with banned organisations were arrested in Lahore on Friday, Capital City Police Officer Lahore (CCPO) informed the media on Friday afternoon, adding that a significant terror plot had been averted, Express News reported.

According to the CCPO, the suspects intended to target senior journalists and important personalities.

He added that the suspects had been involved in several target killing incidents in the city.

Suicide jackets, explosive material, hand grenades and other weapons were confiscated from the suspects.

The arrests came after a traffic warden alerted the police about the suspicious individuals.

The police official said that further investigation is under way.

@MJ: Punjab police is working hard to keep the province safe. I salute their efforts which is why the province is so safe compared to other places! Where else can you walk around in the night and enjoy great food in a care free environment ?
