Investment: British investors show interest

The British government was represented by Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.

LONDON: British business leaders, while showing confidence in the economic policies of the government, have shown interest in increasing their investments in Pakistan. At a business luncheon hosted by the Standard Chartered Bank CEO Peter Sands, British investors said they were looking forward to investing in Pakistan. Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, who is on an official visit to the UK, urged British business leaders and international investors to avail the opportunities available in Pakistan, according to a statement from the Pakistan High Commission. The British government was represented by Baroness Sayeeda Warsi. The discussion mainly focused on Pakistan’s economic revival and the gradual rise of an investment friendly environment.
