LAHORE:
A man killed his wife in Badami Bagh on Thursday for not allowing him to marry another woman, police said.
They said the man, identified as Tanvir, following an argument with Shehnaz Begum in Badar Colony, hit her with an iron rod. Shehnaz, the mother of three, was taken to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.
They said they had arrested Tanvir and sent the body for autopsy.

"she would be guaranteed a decent alimony and that’s what she should have done in this case."
Decent alimony? Islamic law allows only 90 days of sustenance money to the divorced wife. Is it decent money?
Its a misconception that permission is required from the first wife but the wife has every right to divorce her Husband and she would be guaranteed a decent alimony and that's what she should have done in this case.
Once again mullahs are contradicting themselves, as we have heard again and again that permission is needed from the first wife..

"Islam teaches to respect the women but many ,many and many Muslims fail to do so signalling differently."
How does allowing men to marry four women at the same time respects women?
True face of pakistan.
Reading the idiot submissions one can understand why Pakistan is in such a domestic mess. Most countries, where women have equal rights, look on Pakistan with complete scorn.
Perfectly valid with CII's shariah law.
Poor guy did not read the CII decision. he needs no permission and can marry 4 woman as our religion allows.
The unfortunate part is that given pronouncement by Pakistan’s Judicial Authorities (ie: Council of Islamic Ideology) that a man does not require his wife/wives permission to marry again, defense lawyers will spin this as extenuating circumstance and get the murderer a lighter sentence.
