Martyrs Day: Slain soldiers’ sacrifices honoured

The AJK president Sardar Yaqoob Khan said that the people of AJK will stand shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan army.

Rich tributes were paid to soldier who laid down their lives to defend the nation in Neelum Army Stadium.


After laying a floral wreath at the Martyrs Monument in Neelum Stadium, of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Yaqoob Khan said that the people of AJK will never forget the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to safeguard Pakistan.

“The soldiers who are willing to sacrifice their lives are the real heroes of Pakistan,” said Khan.

He said all government schools and colleges of AJK would be named with Pakistan army men who scarified their today for our tomorrow while defending the Pakistan from International border to Line of Control (LoC).

The AJK president Sardar Yaqoob Khan said that the people of AJK will stand shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan army to defend the motherland and defence institutions from any kind of aggression of the enemy.

Rawalpindi Corps Commander Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa saluted the sacrifices of the people of AJK for their right to self-determination.

The Martyrs Day function was also attended by relatives of martyred soldiers, 12 Division General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General Faheemul Aziz, AJK ministers, government secretaries.

Events in connection with Martyrs Day were also organised in other cities, towns and cantonment areas of AJK.
