LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge handed over two children to their mother on Saturday. She had filed a petition seeking the recovery of her children from their father.

The judge handed over four-year-old Amir and two-year-old Amina to their mother Alia Bibi. She said her and Muhammad Salman had been married for a few years, and then relations between them deteriorated.

She said that her husband began to use derogatory language against her and then later kicked her out of the house.

She said he did not let her take the children. She said she had asked elders in the neighbourhood and from his family to mediate, but her husband had not handed over their children.

She had asked the court to direct the Shahdara SHO to produce the children before court.

The police brought the children to the courtroom on Saturday and they were handed over to Bibi.
