PESHAWAR: Heavily armed militants kidnapped three members of Awami National Party (ANP) slain leader Mian Mushtaq’s family in the wee hours of Sunday from Masho Khel village, which is in the outskirts of Peshawar.

Local residents told the Express Tribune that around 30 militants stormed the slain leader’s residence around 1:00am and took five men as hostages. Later, they released two of them.

Before fleeing the area, militants planted several explosive devices at the residence of which four went off, damaging the house. After reaching the area, the police confirmed the incident.

“Yes they have kidnapped three cousins of Mian Mushtaq,” said a local police official.

On January 12, the late ANP leader was killed in broad day light along with his driver and friend while he was on his way to Hayatabad from his village.

He was the provincial vice president of ANP for the past three years and served as district president of Peshawar for eight years as well.

@Ch Allah Dad. Kindly look over the incidents in Punjab during last few months. Its so easy to target PTI. Woman are getting raped, and other are getting murdered. Its not Punjab Gov duty, OR its also because of PTI. Stop making yourself a Joke. Your PML(N) government is inept, and this is a reality

It was MMA's government which provided sanctuary to the criminals to group and create their network of terror, which was unleashed upon the people of Pakistan after MMA lost power. Now again, under a peace deal and pretext of talks these terrorists or the militant wings of the rightwing parties will get a safe heaven to eliminate the left leaning parties, and to unleash upon them when the next elections come.
